All camping at the Cub Scout level is done with the parent(s).
We usually participate in 2 types of Camp-outs; Family Camps and Fun-with-Son
Below is general information and you should check the specifics for that event.
Family Camp-outs are Pack Events where we go to a local campground. Its usually a 1 night camp out Everyone in the family; brothers, sisters, cousins, parents, grandparents and even friends of the family are invited.
The pack will usually cook dinner and breakfast
Boys should bring their Class A uniform (formal uniform) for Flag Services. A Class B uniform (basically a Pack T-Shirt) is a good idea to bring for playing, hiking, and the other activities.
At night we have Pack Campfire with Flag Ceremony. Please have the scout wear his Class Uniform.
We try to do a small hike (you son should be able to earn a hiking belt loop)
Fun With Son
These camps are organized by BSA. These are for the Cub Scout and his Parents ONLY (siblings and friends are not allowed to attend).
These are 2 night camps. Main Meals are provided by the campground.
The campgrounds have several organized activities so your son can earn belt loops (BB Gun, Archery, etc.)
